| The Suffield Players present "What the Butler Saw" |
| | |
THE SUFFIELD PLAYERS PRESENT WHAT THE BUTLER SAW
What does an examining table in a posh psychiatric clinic and a statue of Winston Churchill have to do with a dress that ends up worn by a man? Find out when The Suffield Players present the wild, door-slamming farce What the Butler Saw, by Joe Orton, weekends April 30 through May 16, at Mapleton Hall in Suffield, CT.
The chase is on in this fast-paced comedy of insanity, from the moment Dr. Prentice, a psychoanalyst interviewing a prospective secretary, instructs her to undress, to the final curtain. With enough twists and turns, mistaken identities and misunderstandings, coincidences and lunatic logic for three or four plays, this farcical romp takes a zany look at questions of sanity, morality, and authority. The madcap proceedings feature Dana T. Ring, Dorrie Mitchell, Bruce Showalter, Rayah Martin, Steve Wandzy and Larry Chiz under the direction of Phil Vetro.
Performance dates are April 30, May 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16. Doors open at 7 p.m., curtain at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 for the first Thursday and $17 thereafter with discounts for students and seniors. Call for tickets at 1-800-289-6148 or 860-668-0837. Get directions and order tickets online at www.suffieldplayers.org.
